Trying to get back in the groove.

So, I've been trying very hard to get out of my "winter rut" when it comes to my art. I haven't been very inspired lately- despite studying and reading through art magazines and books, poking through my supplies, and pretty much just trying to "work though" on some projects.

Maybe it's spring, but I think I'm coming around. I made this 4x4 chunky book page for a personal swap on the ATCsforAll website. I really like the way it turned out. The gold is embossing powder that I sprinkled in glue before heating.
Maybe it's The Wizard of Oz.

ATC Website Changes

One of the websites I used to trade ATCs on, ATCards.com, recently closed down. I will miss it, but the members of that site have banded together to create ATCsforall.com. It's very similar with a few changes, mostly for the better. I am excited that the people I have traded with in the past are migrating there and I can't wait to start trading again!

Here is a card I made for the ATCSociety Yahoo group to which I belong.

The background is alcohol ink overstamped in gold with a hand carved stamp. The rest is collage and tons of glitter.

Fairy Sleep

Lately I've been into this Gothic Arch shape (find the template and many inspiring ideas here at artist Belinda Schneider's blog). I posted one of these a while back and decided to use the shape again for my entry into a paper crafts challenge on Craftster using sheet music. It took me a while to put the finishing touches on it- almost to the point of missing the entry deadline.

Better late than never.
